What’s preventing you from finding work-life balance?
In the recent Employee Benefit News magazine, a study from WFD Consulting and WorldatWork shows that men and women share similar views when it comes to work-life balance. Here is some of the results of the study:
Top work-life challenges:
Men | Women |
25% Spending time with family | 24% Financial Stress |
23% Financial Stress | 21% Finding time to exercise |
23% Finding personal time | 19% Finding personal time |
19% Finding Time to exercise | 19% Finding time to spend with family |
Finding work-life balance continues to be a challenge. Financial stress is at the top of the list with both men and women. Financial education can be a key benefit of helping employees alleviate some of this stress.
Basic money management is lacking and this can be seen with the record debt levels both within the government and also with individuals. Any company with an existing group RRSP or pension plan should be incorporating proper financial education as part of the overall workplace savings program to help teach employees how to deal with financial stress.
